Profile

Riehle+Assoziierte is an architectural practice based in Stuttgart and Reutlingen. We work on a wide range of public, commercial and private projects of various scales and typologies, applying a holistic approach to all aspects from the architectural idea to the constructed detail. For every project, we seek appropriate, convincing solutions that provide simple answers to complex challenges. Our architecture is based on a robust set of ideas that give purpose to present circumstances and create quality places for people.

Hannes Riehle and Maximilian Köth lead the offices in Stuttgart and Reutlingen. Our work on each project proceeds within an individually assembled, multidisciplinary team attuned to that project’s unique set of needs and circumstances.

We fulfil our ambition of ensuring an interdisciplinary and integrated holistic approach to every project by drawing on a complementary network of associated specialist consultants who enable us, as general planners, to develop and deliver fully coordinated projects from a single source.

History
The office was founded in 1950 by Eugen Riehle and expanded into a nationally active practice by Wolfgang Riehle and his partners Gerhard Loew (until 2015), Jochen Kühl (until 2017) and Thorismuth Gaiser.

In 2014 Hannes Riehle and Maximilian Köth founded a branch of Riehle+Assoziierte in Stuttgart. Both met in 2005 while studying at the University of Stuttgart and graduated with distinction in 2010. After working for a series of renowned practices in Germany and abroad they reunited, combining their experience to work on commissions of their own projects, mainly resulting from winning competition entries.

Wolfgang Riehle’s retirement from Riehle+Assoziierte at the end of 2018 concluded the carefully planned generational change.

Since 2019, Hannes Riehle and Maximilian Köth have been in charge of the offices in Stuttgart and Reutlingen. Heike Umlauf was a partner at Riehle+Assoziierte from 2019 until 2022.
